I DID IT!!!

So all the training and preparation paid off... 19.5 hours after starting, I crossed the finish line having walked 48.1 miles around the Island of Jersey!

When preparing for a sports event or challenge, good preparation and training is vital to success.   Training should be gradual and specific to the event that you are working towards completing.  Any injuries that occur during training should be assessed and managed to ensure symptoms and problems do not persist or re-occur.  Training approaches should be individual (based on your current fitness levels, experience and previous medical history) and sports specific, i.e. the demands of the event should be identified and transferred into your training plan so that your body does not have any surprises on the event day.
At The Chiropractic Clinic we have a number of patients that seek advice and treatment before and during their training period for musculoskeletal complaints.  During the initial appointment the Chiropractor will take a thorough medical history and complete a comprehensive examination of all the involved joints, soft tissue structures and nerves.  After this the Chiropractor will make a diagnosis and discuss this with you before proceeding with treatment where appropriate.
Over the past 2 months Chiropractors from The Chiropractic Clinic have been providing support to a number of ladies training for the Cancer Research Race for Life events.  You may have seen the Chiropractors at the Cheshire events giving free massages to participants after the race, these have gone down extremely well and we are very impressed with the amount of preparation and training which most runners have completed.
If you are currently thinking of entering an event, are training for an event or are experiencing any symptoms during training call the clinic on 01244 682500 to book a consultation to discuss it further.
